Radio Physics is pleased to announce that it is jointly developing stand-off threat detection capabilities for security robots in collaboration with Knightscope, Inc., headquartered in Mountain View, California.
Radio Physics MiRTLE® patented technology fuses proprietary millimeter wave radar techniques with artificial intelligence to provide instant standoff threat detection of concealed person borne threats. The system is optimized to detect person borne suicide bomb vests and assault weapons. Radio Physics plans to expand the detection capability to include hand guns and knives. MiRTLE’s stand-off detection capability remains unmatched and is gaining traction as a critical system for a wide range of security applications.
The collaboration with Knightscope is aimed at integrating the MiRTLE threat detection capability into Knightscope’s next generation robotic security platform. This new combined capability will allow the Knightscope robots to remotely detect and then notify security personal of people carrying concealed threat items.
MiRTLE is currently available as a stand-off concealed threat detection system, the MiRTLE 30, deployed for detection of mass casualty threats such as suicide bomb vests and large assault weapons at distances out to 30 meters. The system is lightweight, portable, quick and easy to set up, and has low power requirements. The system can be deployed in a wide range of applications to protect people and critical infrastructure such as mass transit locations, groundside protection at airports and public buildings and large event facilities such as sports venues.
The integration of MiRTLE into the Knightscope security robots demonstrates the flexibility and scalability of the solution.
